Maya Angelou
“Will face many defeats in life, but never let yourself be defeated”-Maya Angelou. A social justice warrior is brave leader who fights for what they believe in. Maya Angelou born on April 4,1928 in St. Louis, Maya Angelou also has a positive role as a leader in the Civil Right Movement between 1965-1968.I believe Angelou deserves a holiday because one she willing to make a change, two she is a great poet and author, three she has strength.
First, Maya Angelou should have a holiday because she is willing to make a change and difference in the world. When Angelou got back from Ghana she worked with Organization of African American Unity .In 1959 Angelou became the Northern coordinator for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Angelou is willing to make a change and a difference in the world by working with the OAAU and becoming a coordinator for the Southern Christian leadership Conference.
Second, Angelou should have a holiday because she is great poet and author. Angelou published five books of poetry, one of her poetry books are ‘Still Rising ‘here is a quote “Just like moons and like suns with certainty of tides”. Angelou has also published a list of plays, movies, television spanning more than fifty years. Maya Angelou should have a holiday because she is a great poet and author
Third, Maya Angelou deserves a holiday because she has strength. One of her books is ‘Gather Together in My Name’ shows her struggle as a single black woman raising her young son. ‘I Why Caged Birds Sing’
Focuses largely on the long-term impact of sexual abuse she faced at age eight. Maya Angelou deserve a holiday because she been through a lot in her life and she is still living today at age 85.
All in all Maya Angelou deserves a holiday because she is willing to make a change, also a great poet and author, and she has strength.
