Social Justice Holiday
Alice Paul once said “Mr. President how long must women wait to go get their liberty? Let us have the rights we deserve”. A social justice warrior is a person a person that did something great to change the world. My social justice warrior is a lady named Alice Paul. Alice Paul believed in gender equality she got arrested protesting and wrote the first version of Equal Rights Amendment in 1922. My social justice warrior Alice Paul should deserve a holiday because she is intelligent, believes in gender equality, and she is determined.
First, Alice Paul was very intelligent. When she was 16 she graduated top of her class, then went to Swarthmore College her grandfather was the founder. At age 37, she earned three law degrees , biology, and Master of arts degree in Swarthmore College. Alice Paul should deserve a holiday because she is intelligent, she graduated top of her class , also she earned 3 law degrees.
Next, Alice Paul was raised to believe in gender equality. She played guy sports like basketball, field hockey , and baseball. Her parents believed that men and women should have the same education and to improve society. Being raised to believe in gender equality made her help make a difference.
Lastly, Alice Paul was determined about what she to happen. She went to jail protesting women rights. Alice Paul then wrote the first version of the Equal Rights Amendment in 1922. Alice Paul should have a holiday because she went to jail to make a difference and then later on wrote an amendment.
Because of Alice Paul intelligence, her believing in gender equality, and also her being determined to do what was right. I believe my social justice warrior Alice Paul should have a holiday. She helped make a difference and today because of her and many other female leaders us females are treated equally and with more respect.
