Bell Hooks: Social Justice Warrior
Bell Hooks once said, “I have created a life style that supports contemplation service to words.” A social justice warrior is a person who isn’t afraid to stand up for what they believe. They are brave and fight for what is right. I think Bell Hooks is an exceptional social justice warrior. Bell Hooks deserves a holiday because she’s a leader, she’s wise, and she’s influential.
First, Bell Hooks should have a holiday because she’s a leader. She was fighting for feminism and racial rights. Also, her books focus on pedagogy, sexuality, patriarchy, black masculinity, and general masculinity. Bell Hooks deserves a holiday because she fights for rights and her novels focus on major problems of the world.
Second, Bell Hooks should have a holiday because she has wise words. She once said, “I will not have my life narrowed down. I will not bow down to somebody else’s whim or to someone else’s ignorance.” Also, she writes inspiring books, for example, Ain’t I a Woman: Black Women and Feminism. Bell Hooks deserves a holiday because her quotes are inspiring and so are her books.
Lastly, Bell Hooks should have a holiday because she is influential. She teaches at universities to empower people on feminism and racism. Also, she was voted one of the most influential American thinkers for inspiring people everywhere. Altogether, Bell Hooks deserves a holiday because she’s influential.
All in all, she plays a role in feminine and racial rights. With her leadership, wise words, and being influential, she has truly made a difference. Because of that, I believe Bell Hooks should have a national holiday. She once said, “It’s in the art of having to do things that you don’t want to that you learn something about moving past the self. Past the ego.”
